After fourteen hours from London, twelve from Tokyo or seven from Sydney, the last thing a couple celebrating an anniversary or a family arriving with eight suitcases needs is a haggling match outside the arrival doors with a queue of taxi touts under thirty-three degrees of humidity. The first hour, hour by hour
The chauffeur is dispatched from our partner depot in Tuban, ten minutes from the airport, ninety minutes before your scheduled landing. The vehicle is washed, the cabin pre-cooled to twenty-two degrees, fresh chilled water replaced from yesterday’s pickup, the scented towels stocked from the chiller. By the time you taxi to the gate, the vehicle is already waiting in the priority lane and the chauffeur is walking towards the international arrivals exit with your printed name placard. We do this because Bali traffic from Tuban to the airport priority lane can vary from eight minutes to twenty-five minutes depending on construction at the Bypass Ngurah Rai roundabout — the ninety-minute lead time builds the buffer in.
Once you are in the cabin, the drive itself is engineered for recovery. Long-haul flights leave most travellers dehydrated, foggy and slightly motion-sick from the cabin air. The chilled Equil sparkling water on the console, the kelapa-pandan cool towel, the ambient cabin temperature, the soft seat recline and the muted Spotify playlist — all of these are deliberate. Where we drive
Bali is small on a map and slow on the road. The straight-line distance from Ngurah Rai International (DPS) to Ubud is about thirty-eight kilometres, but the actual drive takes anywhere from seventy minutes to two and a half hours depending on time of day, traffic at the Sanur bypass and ceremony processions in Sukawati. Our chauffeurs know which back-road shortcuts work in late afternoon and which to avoid during odalan temple festivals. Most popular drop-off zones we serve daily:
- Seminyak / Petitenget — twenty-five to forty minutes, the easiest run, ideal for first-time arrivals after a long flight.
- Canggu / Berawa / Pererenan — thirty-five to fifty-five minutes, the surf-cafe belt, popular with creators and digital nomads.
- Ubud / Tegallalang / Payangan — seventy to one hundred and forty minutes, jungle-villa territory, longer drive but the calmest arrival.
- Uluwatu / Bingin / Pecatu — forty to sixty minutes, the cliff resort cluster, faster than Ubud and feels like a different island.
- Nusa Dua / BTDC / Geger — fifteen to twenty-five minutes, the closest five-star zone to the airport, perfect for short transit stays.
- Sanur / Mertasari — twenty-five to forty minutes, the older expat enclave, easy access to Nusa Penida fast-boat ports.
- Jimbaran / Four Seasons / Six Senses — fifteen to thirty minutes, beach dining and resort row south of the airport.
When does a luxury transfer make more sense than a Grab?
